An iPad App for the Flipped Classroom
Are you using iPads in your flipped classroom? If so, you should take a look at Doceri.
Combining screencasting, desktop control, and an interactive whiteboard in one app, you’ll never have to turn your back to the class or audience again. Create a lesson or presentation, insert images, save and edit your project, and record a screencast video you can easily save or share. Doceri does it all and here is the app: Doceri Interactive Whiteboard App
How can you enhance your flipped classroom with this iOS app? All of the following ideas are possible while using Doceri:
- Create next week’s geography lesson at home on your iPad with Doceri, and post it directly to your Facebook page or YouTube channel for your students to view before coming to class.
- Since Doceri allows the screen of your iPad to project to your room’s main display, you can present your lessons from anywhere in your classroom. Students can annotate while sitting at their desks via their devices.
- At the end of class, send the day’s annotated lesson with your students. Capture an image of the screen and send to students, along with that evening’s homework assignment.
- Record your math lesson live in class as you present with Doceri connected to your classroom projector. Afterwards, post a screencast of all the equations you and your students worked out step by step. You’ll even be able to back up through the equation and add additional annotations to highlight where errors were made.
I learned about this iOS app from SimpleK12’s eBook, “Free Apps for Teaching Across the Curriculum”. Click here to view the entire eBook and learn about more mobile apps to enhance your flipped classroom.
