Calling all EdTech lovers!

This weeks #web20wednesday was a great success! Thanks to everyone that contributed! Below you will find this week's recap on some awesome new web 2.0 tools found! And don't miss out next Wednesday for some more great edtech tools! Let's get started!

iSchoolBand – I already love this site based on their catch phrase “marching to a different beat.” iSchoolBand here. (Thanks, @kylepace!)

Google Images Swirl – This new part of Google is an awesome way to search for images on Google where they automatically organize and compile multiple images for you! I searched for Andy Warhol – check out my results! Thanks to @zmandrz and @amandacdykes for this great recommendation!

Trailfire is a simple way to find what you want on the web in a completely different way. A trail is a collection of webpages on just about anything! You can create a trail name, add a new mark, add comments – neat! Check it out!

Whyzz – This site is pretty neat! And most definitely helpful in finding good answers to kids crazy questions! I asked, “Why is the sky blue?” Check out what it told me about why the sky is blue. (Thanks, @kylepace)

Quizlet – This resource is an easy way to learn vocabulary! You can create virtual flashcards and online games…and guess what? You can even share your flashcards with your friends! Easy way to split up the prepping tasks! (@kylepace)

VerbaLearn is another great vocabulary site for teachers or students, where you create a studylist and learn the study list (you can even download it in MP3 format, create an individual crossword puzzle, and so much more) – Awesome in my book! Thanks, @kylepace!

TinyEye – Well, I love this site. It’s genius! We spend so much time putting effort into our photos, graphics, etc, and then someone can easily just use it themselves without any permission. TinyEye is an easy “reverse image search” that will tell you all the places your image is being used! Neat! Thanks, @kylepace

MyStoryMaker is such a fun site! And can I go ahead and add that it’s really easy? It takes you step-by-step on an adventure in creating your own story. You can add emotions, interactions, they can even play music! Be sure to check out @bwasson’s #web20wednesday tool!

Yodio is a great place to create your own personal broadcast messages…it’s free to record, free to produce, and free to publish. Who doesn’t like free stuff? Thanks for the great suggestion, @bwasson!

Vuvux is an easy way to mix, create, and blend personal media (videos, photos, music) into personal expressions! In a way, it’s taking blogging to a visual level! (Thanks, @bwasson)

Aviary – Not everyone can afford Photoshop or an alternate (and expensive) photo editing program. That’s where Aviary comes it. It’s an easy way to create on the fly – photo editing, templates, screen capture and more. Don’t miss this one! Check it out here.

Assign-a-day is an easy (and free) tools designed to “enhance teacher and student communication through an online teacher-managed calendar.” It’s an easy way to keep your classroom organized with an online calendar to post school activities or class calendar. Check out Assign-a-Day here.

Until next #web20wednesday, enjoy!
