Holiday break might be coming up, but you’ll need these tech tools in January!

The first #web20wednesday tech tool I'm lovin' is ClassTools. ClassTools allows you to create free educational games, activities, and diagrams - easily! You can then host them on your own personal blog, website or intranet! And guess what? (This is the part I really love) It's free! And you don't have to worry about coming up with how your game or activity will look - they have templates for you to choose from! I thought the hamburger template was pretty funny...or maybe I'm already thinking about lunch? Who knows! Enjoy ClassTools!

Our next goodie came from @web20classroom! It's the Voicethread 4 Education Wiki, a great place to gather examples of how educators are using Voicethread in their classrooms. Voicethread is a multimedia slideshow that holds anything from documents, videos, to images and then allows people to navigate and leave comments in 5 ways (this is pretty neat): Using their voice (mic or telephone), text, audio file, or video! How cool is that? Then you can share it with whomever you want! So, as you can see, the Voicethread 4 Education Wiki is a great place to find a collection of existing Voicethreads, best practice tips and tricks, and resources! Check it out!

Do you guys remember that game, hot potato? I LOVED that game. Well, this version of Hot Potatoes is a tech tool that is a little bit different than what we're used to but still a lot of fun! Hot Potatoes allows you to create interactive multiple-choice, short-answer, jumbled-sentences, crossword, matching/ordering AND gap-filled exercises! Just think about all the possibilities! Check out Hot Potatoes here.

The next one is as easy as 1, 2, 3 (who doesn't love simplicity!?) -- 1. Mix 2. Mash 3. Share. Sounds easy enough to me! Welcome to Masher! Masher first lets you mix your videos and photos with their huge library of video clips, then you mash all your videos and photos together using their studio (add words, music, AND special effects), then SHARE! Easy peezy...can you say LOVE? I can! Don't miss this one!

@bwasson gave us some great audio tools this week:

  • Vocaroo - probably the EASIEST way I've seen to record audio, send to a friend, or post online
  • AudioPal - just as easy but you have to sign up (it's free though!)
  • Myna - used to remix music tracks and audio clips! You can apply sound effects and record your own voice or instruments! Awesome.

And don't forget to check out @cybraryman1's Tutorials and Video links here.

Until next week, enjoy!
