Summer Selfie Bingo

Play Summer Selfie Bingo!

Try playing summer selfie bingo over the summer break! I found this great game on Twitter, and I wanted to share it with all of you. I watch social media closely and it's my job to share some of the hot topics on Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, and other outlets that teachers, principals, students, and parents are contributing.

In North America, summer break is here for students and teachers alike, so why not keep busy with a fun game? The Summer Selfie Bingo game, posted by Matthew Arend on his Twitter account, functions as a fun game and a great guide for teachers and their families over the summer break. The goal is to have a great summer by getting a full row across, down, or diagonally, or even by filling up the whole board.

Some of these are fairly easy to get, like having a coffee break, celebrating the 4th of July, or wearing sunglasses. Others might require a little more pre-planning, such as taking a selfie on a plane, at the zoo, or at the beach. Many of these selfies encourage healthy activities, including playing various sports, exercising, and reading.  And some are just plain fun — eating ice cream or shopping. Try it out to guarantee you have a fulfilling summer.

You can play this game with your family, friends, students, or just keep track by yourself. Get your students engaged over the summer by inviting them to play and then use their selfies as a spring board for a different project, like a writing assignment or art project. You could even hold a fun competition to see which participant has the best board at the end of the summer. It's a fun way to make sure you and whoever you share this with stays active and enjoys their summer as much as you do.
