What’s Your Favorite Quote?
Everyone has a favorite quote… what’s yours?
Do you use motivational quotes for yourself, your family, or your students?
I’ve been a quotaholic forever…You see, ever since I was a kid, I can remember clipping newspapers and magazines for things that I wanted to save. Although she never said a thing to me, I’m sure my piles of clippings drove my mom nuts. With the internet, my addiction increased and I began clipping and saving in online folders and bookmarks like a madman. And, of course, I was printing stuff out like crazy and stuffing notes in manilla folders.
I have quotes on my wall, in my wallet, stuffed into file cabinets… and, ever since I could afford to do it, I started buying motivational posters and quotes to put around the SimpleK12 halls. Well, you get the idea… I like quotes.
So, I got the idea that it might be fun to see what other members in the SimpleK12 Teacher Learning Community value.
As hard as it was, I narrowed down from a few hundred favorites to my single most favorite quote that I’ve used with every kid I had or came into contact with:
I’m not a Henry Ford fan for a variety of reasons (that’s a topic beyond the scope of this piece), but the guy could certainly do assembly lines and quotes.
Okay, okay… wait, I really can’t just give you that one though… there as just too many great quotes to get some motivational juices flowing in yourself or others around your school, classroom, or home, so here’s a top-drawer contender for my favorite quote:
If you are not willing to learn, no one can help you. If you are determined to learn, no one can stop you.
Now, what’s your favorite quote?
