Every educator wants to get to know what the best Twitter tips for teachers are. We have compiled our favorites Twitter tips are. Check them out!
1. Promote other people.
The magic number is 12x to every 1 self-promotional tweet. Of course, we all want recognition for our ideas, thoughts, causes, and products, but Twitter is truly a collaborative community. The more you give, the more you get.
2. Sharing is caring.
Retweet the good stuff from others. One plea though… if you’re retweeting someone who includes a link, make sure the link works. Nothing will bother your followers more then sending them to a dead end.
3. Set an egg timer.
Twitter is addictive. Otherwise you will be sure to check just before closing up for the day, or when just getting in, or just before going to lunch, or just after getting out of a meeting, or whenever I have a break before a meeting, or…Check Twitter twice a day, for 10 minutes each time.
4. Use the Tools.
You have options with Tweetdeck or Hootsuite so you can see more in the Twitterverse. We strongly encourage you to use one of these Twitter organization tools; they’ll make you dramatically more productive.
5. Make Real Connections.
Tweeting the content of events is nice, but so is occasionally making a real live connection with the speaker. Follow up with comments to the speaker about the things you learned from listening.
