San AntonioThe Texas Highways Magazine’s Reader’s Choice Award for the number one travel destination is San Antonio. It also ranked number one for the most romantic city in the United States in a 2014 Amazon study. One look at the city’s miles-long River Walk explains why. Stretching all along the Paseo del Rio, the River Walk offers tons of cafes and shopping in a beautiful setting.  It also connects to the Spanish missions, including the famous Alamo. Many of the city's museums and hotels are easily accessible as well. You can tour the San Antonio River Walk by River Cruiser, bicycle, or by foot.

San AntonioFor family fun, check out Six Flags Fiesta Texas or Kiddie Park. Kiddie Park is a 1920s era amusement park that is perfect for families with younger children. There are also several parks with lots of green space throughout this city, so kids can burn off some pent up energy in the great outdoors. Also remember to visit the Institute of Texan Cultures for a lesson in Texan history and the cultures that have influenced it. The Institute would also be the ideal spot for a school field trip.
