Session Description:

Online social networks and web tools can increase productivity and creativity by inspiring students to share ideas, create digital content, give and receive feedback, or just hang out. Join Shelly Terrell as she shares how to effectively manage online collaborative projects including how to avoid challenges such as time management, decision making, problem solving, and communication. In addition, you will walk away with a variety of free apps and web tools to support effective collaboration and help students work together to reach a common goal. 

Learning Objectives:

  • Explain how to effectively manage online collaborative projects including how to avoid challenges such as time management, decision making, problem solving and communication. 
  • Design a content-specific online project that supports effective collaboration and helps students work together to reach a common goal. 

Assessment:  

Participants will join a collaborative backchannel chat to discuss ideas for effectively managing online collaborative projects to demonstrate their understanding of the session objectives and reflect on their learning.
