The first year in the classroom can feel overwhelming. From classroom management to inclusive design and assessment strategies, new teachers are expected to master it all quickly.
This pathway brings together six essential focus areas into one guided learning experience designed to build clarity, confidence, and classroom readiness.

Effective teachers have several things in common: content knowledge, instructional strategies, classroom management, and planning! Join Dr. Samantha Fecich as she discusses how beginning teachers can reinforce these skills and build a foundation to become educational leaders and learners. Participants will also have an opportunity to access done-for-you templates and resources to develop professional goals and classroom procedures that will set the stage for academic success.
Assessment plays a key role in the process of learning by enabling instructors to measure the effectiveness of their teaching and linking student performance to specific learning objectives. Join Dr. Samantha Fecich as she shares strategies to help beginning teachers evaluate different types of assessments and incorporate technology that will motivate students and give them more control over their learning. Participants will also have an opportunity to access done-for-you templates and resources to design an assessment to determine what students learned, how well they learned it, and where they struggled.
Effective classroom management plays an essential role in establishing a positive classroom community where students can learn, grow, and achieve. Join Dr. Samantha Fecich as she shares strategies to help beginning teachers explore their classroom management style and integrate technology that will help track, monitor, and engage students in their learning. Participants will also have an opportunity to access done-for-you templates and resources to design their own classroom management plan to maximize classroom instruction, student behavior, and academic performance.
When educators come together to share information, resources, ideas, and expertise, learning becomes more accessible and effective for students. Join Dr. Samantha Fecich as she shares strategies to help beginning teachers establish a Personalized Learning Network (PLN) at their school as well tips and tricks for utilizing social media to connect with like-minded professionals from around the world. Participants will also have an opportunity to access done-for-you templates and resources to develop their own PLN and create a network of people and resources to support their ongoing learning.
Universal Design for Learning (UDL) is an instructional approach where learning experiences are pro-actively designed with options that are accessible for every learner, while Differentiated Instruction (DI) is a responsive practice where adjustments are made based on the individual needs of the students. Join Dr. Samantha Fecich as she shares strategies to help beginning teachers integrate technology and UDL to differentiate instruction, including best practices for monitoring student progress data to make instructional decisions."‹
