Description

If you are looking to gamify your classroom, the first step is to employ the elements of game design that will engage and motivate your students. Join Lauren Boucher for this hands-on, interactive workshop as she shares how you can shift parts of your classroom instruction, activities, or both, into a fun game that your students will be excited to play! Participants will also receive a ready-made planning template that they can use to bring gamification into their classroom and tips and tricks to level up their classroom culture.

This is workshop two of three for the series titled “How to Use Gamification to Motivate and Engage Your Students.” 

Presented by Lauren Boucher

Lauren Boucher is a Regional Digital Teaching and Learning Consultant for the state of North Carolina and a former Instructional Technology Specialist with Pitt County Schools. She has taught third grade, as well as elementary and middle school gifted education.

Objectives

  • Explain how to use a ready-made planning template to bring gamification into the classroom and build a positive classroom culture.

Special Technology Instructions

Participants will need access to an internet device, a non-school, personal Google account. SimpleK12’s Google Classroom will be utilized for the interactive and hands-on components of this workshop.

Assessment

Participants will have collaboration and sharing opportunities throughout the workshop to demonstrate their understanding of the workshop objectives and reflect on their learning.
