Positive connections between parents and teachers have been shown to improve students' academic achievement, social competencies, and emotional well-being. However, encouraging parents to join the team can sometimes be a challenging process. Join Melissa Mann as she shares strategies for building relationships with parents of students with exceptionalities. You will also walk away with ideas and resources to help students achieve progress both at school and at home.

Melissa Mann is a special education teacher with the Madison County School System. She has taught both self-contained and collaborative students in grades Kindergarten through 6th grade. Melissa is dually certified in Elementary Education and Special Education. She also has a Master's in School Counseling and is a certified school counselor.
