Many new teachers have a basic knowledge of Universal Design for Learning (UDL) but may be looking for ways to effectively implement it into their curriculum. Join Dr. Matt Bergman for this time-saving, to the point session as he defines each of the nine UDL guidelines, shares how you can use them to enhance student learning, and discusses how they support the three principles of UDL. You will also walk away strategies for applying the UDL framework into your lessons that will help you create a flexible and barrier-free curriculum to reach ALL learning styles and abilities! 

Learning Objectives: 

  • Define each of the nine UDL guidelines, explain how you can use them to support student learning, and discuss how they support the three principles of UDL. 
  • Explore strategies for applying the UDL framework into your lessons to create a flexible and barrier-free curriculum to reach ALL learning styles and abilities.  

Assessment:  

Participants will join a collaborative backchannel chat and discuss strategies for implementing UDL to demonstrate their understanding of the session objectives and reflect on their learning.
