Session Description:

It is difficult to maintain a positive classroom culture when a defiant student attempts to destroy your classroom or threaten the safety of themselves and others. Join Ryan Jeffery for this time-saving, to the point session and discover how to crack the C.O.D.E. to seven levels of physical aggression and understand why students may demonstrate unsafe behaviors. You will also walk away with strategies for counteracting each of these levels of student aggression to stop a behavior crisis in your classroom before it starts.

Learning Objectives:

  • Evaluate seven levels of physical aggression to identify which type a student may demonstrate.
  • Recognize the function behind a student’s unsafe behavior to crack the C.O.D.E. to seven levels of physical aggression.
  • Design a plan to keep teachers and students safe in the classroom in the event of a behavior crisis.

Assessment:

Participants will join a collaborative backchannel chat and discuss physical aggression to demonstrate their understanding of the session objectives and reflect on their learning.
