What are some things you think you should find in today's classrooms? Educators recently discussed this on Twitter, so I decided to weigh in and share what I found with you. I watch social media closely and it's my job to share some of the hot topics on Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, and other outlets that teachers, principals, students, and parents are contributing.
The only thing that never changes is the fact that things change. Yup, change is the only constant. Education is no exception to this. Between edtech, new ideas such as flipped classrooms, and fresh outlooks on grading, the education system is changing rapidly. Sometimes it's hard to find out what today's classrooms should look like. That's where the infographic Dan McCabe posted on his Twitter account comes in. McCabe posted an infographic called “8 Things to Look for in Today's Classroom.” George Couros created the infographic that comes from Innovator's Mindset. You can see it below.
The graphic focuses on student-related ideas. It emphasizes a more open classroom than the ones from the past. Today's students should be more connected and have more of a voice than those who wandered through the hallowed halls of academe in years past. If done properly, giving students a choice and voice will create critical thinkers who can make decisions and solve problems on their own.
