English Learners have a wide variety of traditions, culture, knowledge, to share with their peers. Join Shelly Terrell as she discusses how to use free, education-friendly digital publishing tools to encourage student self-expression, including scaffolds, supports, and strategies to help students complete their projects. Participants will also have an opportunity to access done-for-you templates to create their own digital storytelling project that they can immediately use with their students.
Objectives
Evaluate a variety of free, education-friendly digital publishing tools appropriate for adolescent English Learners in grades 4-12 Develop scaffolds, supports, and strategies to help English Learners complete their own digital storytelling projects Create a content-specific digital storytelling project for English Learners that enhances the four skills of listening, speaking, reading, and writing
